I am a parent of two grown children and a grandparent, so I know firsthand the joys, questions, and challenges that come with the journey of parenting. I believe parenting is one of the most meaningful journeys we experience and also one of the most challenging.

For more than 35 years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside children and parents as they navigate growth, change, uncertainty, and the many transitions that come throughout childhood. My years as a school counselor have given me a unique window into the world of children; their development, their relationships, their struggles, and the many ways they learn and grow.

Throughout my career, I have supported countless parents who deeply love their children but are searching for a better understanding of what their child is experiencing and how they can best support them. I have seen time and time again that when parents gain a deeper understanding of their children, relationships become stronger, communication improves, and families feel more connected.

My work is deeply influenced by the belief that understanding creates connection. Children thrive when they feel known, accepted, and valued, and parents thrive when they have the support and tools to understand both their children and themselves.

My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in School Counseling, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am also a Certified Enneagram Coach, which provides an additional lens for understanding personality, self-awareness, and relationships.

My passion is helping parents navigate the growing years with compassion, confidence, and connection because every child deserves to be understood, and every parent deserves support along the way.

Meet Charlotte Scholl

I believe that parents deeply love their children. Yet during the growing years, misunderstandings, developmental changes, emotions, and life's daily pressures can make it difficult for parents and children to truly understand one another. When understanding is replaced by frustration, relationships can become strained. But when parents gain a deeper understanding of their child's development, temperament, emotional needs, and behavior, they begin to respond differently. They listen more closely. They react with greater patience. They parent with increased confidence and compassion. As understanding grows, relationships deepen. And when relationships deepen, children experience the security of being known, accepted, and unconditionally loved.

That is why I do this work.

My desire is to walk alongside parents, helping them navigate the growing years with wisdom, practical guidance, and encouragement so they can build relationships that last far beyond childhood.

Because the greatest gift we can give our children isn't perfect parenting. It's a relationship rooted in understanding, connection, and unconditional love.

The Heart of My Practice

I believe that when parents truly understand their children, relationships deepen. And when relationships deepen, unconditional love is more fully experienced, expressed, and strengthened.

My philosophy begins with understanding.

Every behavior has meaning. Rather than asking, “How do I get my child to behave?” I encourage parents to begin with a different question:

“What is my child trying to communicate?”

Behavior is often a child’s way of expressing emotions, developmental challenges, unmet needs, or experiences they may not yet have the emotional maturity, vocabulary, or skill set to explain. When we understand the why behind behavior, we can respond with greater wisdom and compassion—creating connection instead of conflict.

I believe children flourish when they feel understood, accepted, and connected. They are not defined by their struggles or behaviors; they are individuals with unique strengths, personalities, emotions, and needs. When parents approach their children with curiosity instead of frustration, challenges become opportunities to better understand, communicate, and grow together.

Understanding is the foundation, but it is also the beginning. Once parents have a clearer picture of their child’s developmental and emotional needs, we can create intentional strategies that strengthen relationships while building resilience, confidence, emotional awareness, and a child’s sense of agency.

The goal is not simply to change behavior. The goal is to help children grow into capable, confident individuals who feel known, supported, and empowered—while helping parents feel equipped to guide them with compassion and purpose.

My role is to walk alongside parents as they navigate the growing years, helping them look beneath behavior, understand their children more deeply, and respond in ways that nurture connection and lifelong relationships.

Drawing on more than 35 years of experience as a professional school counselor and my training as a Certified Enneagram Coach, I help parents better understand both their children and themselves. Together, we build stronger relationships founded on trust, connection, and unconditional love.

Because when children feel deeply understood, they are more likely to feel deeply loved. And when parents understand their children, families grow stronger together.
